Transition Your Beauty Routine Into Fall
Well, all of a sudden summer is over...really feels like it happened overnight. And as the temp drops, it's a great time to evaluate if your beauty routine needs to adjust right along with it. In Chicago specifically, we have a whole lot of windy weather ahead of us. Time to say goodbye to oily summer skin and hello to drier days.
So what does all this mean for your beauty routine? Besides shifting to fall-tastic shades (mauve and plum, anyone?) here are a few ideas to keep your beauty game strong over the next few months.
Switch-up powders for cream. Cooler temps and wind tend to bring on drier, more irritated skin. Now would be a great time to try out that cream blush you've been eyeing. I recently discovered the Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in the shade Perk, a beautiful coral. It's infused with mango butter and avocado oil, so I'm counting on it to hold up against that Lake Michigan wind.
Bring on a hair mask. POPSUGAR sent me the September Must Have Box to try, and I was super excited to open it and find the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair hair mask. I started using it right away, and it's going to hold a prominent place in my routine this fall. It's sulfate, silicone, and paraben free...so no need to worry about any of that junk. All you get is soft, nourished hair. And what's the POPSUGAR Must Have Box? Only a box of awesome goodies delivered to your door each month. Check it out here. And use the code SHOP5 for $5 off your first box!
Spritz it up. Face mists are a great option in the summer to cool you off, but they are also fantastic in the cooler months to keep moisture in your skin. Look for a soothing one, like the Glossier Soothing Face Mist (catchy name, huh?). It's a rosewater spray, and your skin will drink it up.
