At-Home Spa Facial with Ole Henriksen
Anyone else frequently get the Sunday night jitters? You know, that feeling you get when you realize the weekend is almost over (even if you still have an entire day left). I do. Big time. So I generally try and reserve Sunday night as a time to relax, recharge, and reset my mind before I start the week. Stress can have real, physical impacts, and it's important to take a little "me time" every now and then. I guess you can say that I'm jumping on the "self-care Sunday" bandwagon.
What do you do to take time for yourself? Any good book suggestions? Maybe a new workout you've tried? I'm all ears! My goal is to regularly bring this content to the blog. We'll call it the Chi Latte "sip of self-care". Follow along with the hashtag #SipOfSelfCare on Instagram, and be sure to tag your own ideas and words of encouragement. We're all in this together!
For today's #SipOfSelfCare, I want to share with you my new favorite at-home spa treatment. It's no secret that I love Ole Henriksen. After realizing how much I love the 3 Little Wonders set (you can read more about that here), I decided to try more products from the brand and ended up with the Power Peel Transforming Facial System.
The Power Peel is a 3-step process that gives you everything you need for an at-home facial. The kit comes with six uses, each individually packaged, making it travel-friendly. It also comes with two facial sponges. Although, I wish it came with six because these little sponges aren't something that I'm going to keep around between uses for fear of accumulating bacteria. Tip: A washcloth also works just fine.
Before we get started, I should note that this peel is not suitable for sensitive skin. If you're not sure, it's best to test a patch before applying to your face.
- Step 1 is the Almond Polish Facial Scrub. It smells delicious and will leave your face feeling super clean. Be gentle. It is a physical exfoliant and you don't want to hurt your skin.
- Step 2 is the Instant Transformation Lemon Facial Peel. Leave this on for 2 minutes and don't rinse it off. You'll apply the next step right over it.
- Step 3 is the Chamomile Comfort Mask. This is the part where you get to really relax. Light a candle, grab a book, and let this do its thing for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.
