It's no secret that winters in Chicago can be rough, but ask any Chicagoan and they'll tell you it's worth it. Why? Because summertime in Chicago is the BEST. Hands down. And it's almost here!
So what's so great about Chicago summers? Well, let me tell you...
AIR & WATER SHOW (Aug 20-21)
One of the things that seems to surprise people the most when they visit Chicago is the lakefront beach. Yes, an actual beach. Stroll down North Ave to Castaways and it's like spring break out there every day in the summer. The Air & Water Show is the pivotal weekend of beachside activity. Set up shop early at the beach, or stake out a spot on any rooftop with lakeside views. Just don't plan to sleep-in on this particular weekend because you'll get to hear the show whether you want to or not...

MOVIES IN THE PARK (Tuesday Nights)
The Millennium Park (FREE!) summer film series will kick off June 21st with the 30th anniversary of Ferris Bueller's Day Off and continue every Tuesday night throughout the summer. Grab a blanket and a bottle of wine (or two, or three..) and enjoy a night out.
Check out the whole lineup here.
WORKOUTS IN THE PARK (Saturday Mornings)
More Millennium Park...this time to get your fitness on. Did you know that there are (FREE!) outdoor fitness classes on Saturday mornings at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion? Starting June 4th, you can take yoga, pilates, zumba, and tai chi in front of some of the greatest skyline city views. Remember to BOYM. (bring your own mat!)
Check out the class schedule here.
P.S...have you ever tried a S'well Bottle? This thing legit keeps drinks cold for 24 hours. It's a must have for any outdoor workout!
Thought you'd like a little sneak peek at all the fun in store this summer...excited yet? What are some of your favorite summertime activities?
